Playing with Home To Nest again

Good morning! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend and enjoyed the sun. I must admit I wasn’t feeling very crafty over the weekend, there was a lot of other things going on but I needed to make a birthday card for our good friend John. He runs his own gardening business so it seemed very apt to revisit the Lucy Cromwell Home To Nest range.

I was struggling with a starting point (too much sun I think!) so I decided to have a go at Jill’s Challenge over on the Docrafts website as this week it’s a sketch challenge and this finally got my creative juices flowing! I wanted to keep the colours neutral but to add a bit of fun I used astripe paper from the Papermania Capsule Collection Brights for the background.

As this is a male card I kept the embellishments minimal with just a little bit of twine for decoration and inked and distressed the elements to give a more vintage look. Happy Birthday John, I hope you like it!

  1. A brilliant card for anyone who loves gardening. Love the subtle colours and the use of the raffia. I hope this hasn’t posted twice – I was told I was too quick with my post and to slow down!!! lol
