Light up your Christmas!

Hi crafty friends, I’m enjoying a lovely lie in before the crafting madness starts tomorrow when I go back to work. I’ve had a bit of a rest this week although not much as I had a docrafts demonstration at The Range in Gosport yesterday. It was fun though!

So, I managed to grab a copy of the latest Papercraft Inspirations as back in July I was asked to create some projects using the new XCut Christmas Shadow Box Dies. I really enjoyed this project and was even more chuffed when one card made the front cover!

The three cards all featured an LED tealight and a vellum panel at the back of the scene to create a festive glow.

I also used the latest docrafts Christmas range Pocket Full of Posies.

These dies are fabulous and create the most lovely festive scenes.

On the final project I layered up the village scene with acetate and created a shaker scene on a gift bag.

If you would like to have a go at these projects the XCut Shadow Box dies and Papermania Pocket Full of Posies are both available at your nearest docrafts stockist.

I feel a roast coming on today!

Fun Crafty Times in Florida!

Hi crafty friends, I hope you’re all well. I’ve had a crazy week, I got back from Florida on Tuesday and I’m absolutely shattered! Luckily I took the rest of this week off.

I was lucky enough to be invited to the Tim Collins Show again which I visited in Boston back in April. This time it was in Orlando which was very exciting as I’ve never been.

As well as a trade show on the Sunday I had four workshops using some of our lovely new docrafts products.

This trick or treat bag features a mixture of the latest Santoro Gorjuss Tweed range and the XCut Spooky Graveyard Shadow Box Die. With Halloween just around the corner this was a popular make.
This light up card was definitely the favourite of the weekend. It’s been made with the XCut Santa in The Sky Shadow box die and has an LED tealight behind it to create a festive glow. I’ve have created a whole set of these cards for Papercraft Inspirations which I will share later in the week.

I had a fabulous time in Florida, the people were so friendly and I also got to meet the craft legend Tim Holtz, it doesn’t get much better than that!

Have a great day!

Christmas Postcards

Hi crafty friends, I hope alls well with you. I’m enjoying a nice lie in with Hoobs and Lottie so I thought I would share some makes with you.

The latest issue of Creativity magazine turned up at HQ this week and it’s packed full of lovely festive makes. I made some distressed Christmas cards for this issue which all feature the Papermania Tall Urban Stamp Postal Frame.

This one has tissue paper added to it and stamped and embossed snowflakes as well as lots of inking and spritzing to create a distressed look.
I’ve used a star embossing folder on the corner of this one, inked over the top and sanded the stars to give them a worn look.

Finally, I dampened some white card, crumpled it up and painted with water down brown ink to create this aged look.

Creativity Issue 62 is available now through the usual stockists, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!

Enjoy your weekend,

Two Very Different Magazine Appearances!

Good morning crafty friends! I’m being extremely lazy today, I’m still in bed, on my second cuppa and thoroughly enjoying myself. I thought it was also the ideal time to share a couple of things….

These cards are in the latest Issue of Making Cards Magazine.

These cards are made using the Papermania Folk Floral range from docrafts and feature iris folding.

I must admit that I hadn’t actually tried iris folding before but I really enjoyed it and thought it worked well with the pretty papers in the range.

My second magazine appearance this month is very different from the norm! Hoobs (my husband) is a very talented designer and he designed the poster for The Charlatans gig on the roof of Hotel Football in Manchester back in July. We were lucky enough to be invited to this amazing night and here we are at the front in the latest issue of Q Magazine. Me and Hoobs are in the matching stripes, by accident!

So as you can see I do sometimes get a little break from crafting, but never too long, I miss it!

Enjoy the rest of the bank holiday weekend,

Demo Makes At The Craft Gallery

Hi crafty friends, I hope you’re all well and creating lots of lovely things. I’m having a nice cuppa and relax in bed after a very busy docrafts demonstration at the Craft Gallery in Southampton yesterday.

It was a very productive day, I managed to make 10 cards from all the latest docrafts goodies.

This cute card features the cute Forever Friends bear in the lovely new Classic Decadence range. The punched flowers are attached to strips of acetate and are glued behind the decoupage image. It all folds flat too.

This festive make was made with products that are found in the docrafts July Christmas goody bag. There’s plenty of embellishments in the bag to create numerous cards, gifts and tags.

This simple card was one of my favourites. It was made with products from the other July goody bag. There’s a lovely Folk Floral stamp which I’ve used in the background and I’ve added a couple of layers of a decoupage on top.

I have plenty more to share so I will be back later in the week. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Sneak Preview of Creativity 61

Hi crafty friends, I hope alls well in your crafty worlds. I’m busy beavering away creating magazine mags for the September Issue of Creativity at the moment. The August issue turned up at docrafts HQ yesterday which is always exciting, especially when we know how much hard work and hours goes into it! Here’s a sneaky look…

I’m very pleased to have a front cover make again, it’s always a real buzz. I popped out shopping  the other day and saw my last cover on the shelf and got a little thrill! These cute bears are from the Classic Decadence Forever Friends range, so sweet!

This is a cute make using several of the new mini dies from XCut. These are really versatile dies and I’m sure will be really popular at only £2.50 each, bargain! The rest of my makes this month are in the wedding booklet which comes with the mag and is packed full of inspiration for brides to be.

I hope you enjoy the magazine as much as we did creating it!

Enjoy,

Great New Ranges from docrafts

Hi crafty friends, I hope you’re all well. I’m on my way home from docrafts HQ and I thought it was about time I shared some makes with you. There are some really lovely new ranges out this month including the wonderfully summery Folk Floral.

This card is featured on the latest issue of Creativity magazine and has a 3D frame covered in the new deco sheets.

This new Forever Friends range called Classic Decandence is completely different and has lots of sparkly embellishments and gorgeous papers that can be used with or without the famous bear.

Finally, here’s a frame made using one of the fabulous new shadow box die, Parisienne Street, I love it!

I hope you have as much fun with the new ranges as I did!

Bonjour from Paris!!

Hello my crafty friends! I’m sooooo sorry I’ve not blogged for a while. I’ve been having a busy old time in Krafti world creating lots of things for docrafts. We are now having a much needed break in Paris staying in a lovely little apartment for a week, bliss! It also gives me a chance to catch up with you!

Here are a couple of cards I made that featured in the latest issue of Making Cards Magazine made using the lovely Owl Folk range from docrafts.

This is such a lovely fun range and really easy to work with. I love all the colours and what’s not to love about owls?

Right, it’s coffee and croissant time before we head out into the big city.

Have a lovely crafty day,

Sending Best Wishes To The Glitter Pot

Hi crafty friends, it’s been a while! As usual, things have been very busy in crafty world and I don’t always have makes I can share with you just yet!

Anyway, it was lovely to meet some crafters on Saturday at a docrafts demonstration at The Glitter Pot. It was lovely to play about with all the latest ranges…

I’m loving the Owl Folk range, it’s really cute and easy to work with. It’s very versatile too as there are lots of colour ways within the range including orange and blue and green and brown.

The die cuts are quick to layer up and ideal for a quick card. Mixing them with an embossing folder adds a little extra texture and interest to your makes.

Unfortunately The Glitter Pot is sadly closing late June and until they find new premises there will be no more demos. They will still be selling online and hopefully will find new premises very soon.

I would like to wish Bryan and the team all the very best and I will hopefully see you again in the near future.

Making Cards Magazine Makes

Good morning crafty friends, it’s a little dull here on the Isle of Wight but hey that’s ok, I’ll be tucked away in my craft room all day. A couple of months ago I was given the opportunity to create some cards for Making Cards Magazine. It’s a great mag with a really fresh look to it and because I spend a lot of my time making all sorts of different creations it was really nice to go back to card making…

I used the Papermania Nature’s Gallery range from docrafts for these cards and decided to make then round for a change. It also helps show off the lovely XCut embossing folder frames.

The decoupage images in the A4 Ultimate Die Cut and Paper Pack are perfect to create a quick card and add great depth. I really enjoyed making these and here they are in the magazine ….

Right, I need to hit that craft room!

Have a great day everyone,
